At Sharp Children’s Centre Musita, we believe that nurturing the spiritual foundation of every child is just as vital as academic excellence. In line with our commitment to holistic education, we held a Week of Prayer from Monday, 21st July to Saturday, 26th July as scheduled in our Term 2 school program.
This deeply impactful event took place at our school chapel, uniting all pupils, teachers, and non-teaching staff in worship, reflection, and spiritual growth. The theme for the week was a soul-searching and inspiring message: “WHEN I SEE GOD.”
🌟 Why the Week of Prayer Matters at Sharp
The Week of Prayer is a signature event at Sharp Children’s Centre. It provides time for students and staff to pause from their busy schedules and reconnect with God. Our goal is to help every child understand that education is not complete without faith, character, and purpose.
This spiritual event is intentionally crafted to:
- Strengthen the spiritual lives of our pupils
- Teach Christian values in a meaningful way
- Encourage fellowship across the school community
- Support emotional and moral development
Our theme this term, “When I See God,” helped the children to reflect on how they can see God’s presence in their daily lives—through kindness, nature, family, learning, and prayer.
🙏 A Spirit-Filled Week Led by an Anointed Team of Preachers
To guide us through the week, we welcomed anointed preachers who are well known for their passion for children’s ministry and Christian teaching:
🔹 Pastor Kyeyago Sulaiman – Main Preacher
Coming from Ivunamba, Jinja City, Pastor Kyeyago served as the main preacher throughout the week. He delivered powerful, child-friendly sermons that connected deeply with both learners and staff. His messages focused on seeing God through obedience, humility, and service.
🔹 Pastor Wodeya Peter – Guest from Mbale
Pastor Wodeya captivated pupils with his storytelling style and real-life illustrations, helping children understand biblical truths. His sessions focused on how children can grow spiritually even at a young age.
🔹 Elder Kadali Cornelius – Voice of Wisdom
From Jinja, Elder Kadali brought wisdom and a calm presence. He spoke about how God reveals Himself in difficult moments and the importance of trusting God in all circumstances.
🔹 Pastor Wafula Jackson – Closing the Week in Prayer
From Magamaga Subzone, Pastor Wafula concluded the week with a message of dedication and surrender, challenging both children and staff to carry the lessons forward in their lives.
🎶 Sharp Voices of Hope – Lifting Hearts Through Praise
Every session was brought to life by the school’s vibrant choir—Sharp Voices of Hope. This talented group led praise and worship, setting a joyful and reverent atmosphere before every sermon. With spirit-filled singing, harmonies, and moving songs, they helped everyone prepare their hearts to receive the Word.
Their music was more than entertainment—it was ministry through song, and many testified that they felt the presence of God during worship.
👧🏾👦🏾 Impact on the Learners
For many children, this Week of Prayer was their first time experiencing a deep connection with God. Through:
- Interactive sermons
- Prayers and altar calls
- Group worship and discussions
Students were given space to ask questions about faith, share what they were learning, and even express personal prayers. Teachers supported by guiding small group reflections and encouraging pupils to journal their spiritual growth.
Many learners left the week saying they felt closer to God, with renewed hope and joy.
🏫 Whole School Participation
One of the most powerful aspects of the Week of Prayer was the unity across the school. Not only students, but teachers, administrators, support staff, and school leaders were involved daily. This created a beautiful model of a faith-based community where every member participates in spiritual growth.
📖 Theme Deep Dive: “WHEN I SEE GOD”
The theme was drawn from various biblical stories where God revealed Himself in unexpected places—like Moses and the burning bush, or Elijah on Mount Horeb. Each day focused on different topics:
- Day 1: Seeing God through Creation
- Day 2: Seeing God through Obedience
- Day 3: Seeing God in Times of Trouble
- Day 4: Seeing God in One Another
- Day 5: Seeing God Through Worship
- Day 6: Seeing God in His Word
This theme helped learners realize that God is always present, even when we least expect it.
